The prepregger is a machine constructed by CGMI for the production of prepreg materials using fibres or technical textiles and resins. The resin is applied on the bottom release paper on the bottom coater. Together with the textile or fibres and the top paper, it passes between the first nip rollers. Here, the resin is spread over the entire width of the textile or fibres. Together, the three layers pass the impregnation table where the resin becomes more liquid and completely impregnates the reinforcement. The system then passes the B-stage plate where the partial polymerisation of the resin occurs. Then the material is cooled down to room temperature passing the chill plate. Finally, the prepreg is wound up and stored in the freezer.
