Reusable Silicone Technology

An alternative to commonly used consumables for vacuum infusion, such as peel plies, distribution meshes, tacky tape and vacuum films, is the use of silicone vacuum bags. These reusable bags are brushed or sprayed on calibrated molds, and already include resin ports, vacuum ports and distribution channels. Both layup time and cost of consumables can be reduced significantly.

SLC-Lab uses a Silcon V machine from Alan Harper Composites. This machine allows us to spray silicone, with the option to use thixotropic additives for greater vertical surfaces.
